Good night, sweetheart

I went to an Acroyoga workshop on Saturday. Fun times! Then, I slept for almost 10 hours that night! I think I may have slept too much because I was super tired yesterday and then I didn't sleep much at all last night so now I'm double tired! Oh, so tired. That's all for now.

Inner Body Bright

I catered two parties this weekend both at really nice homes in Westlake. The one on Friday night was a small party that was super easy. The one Saturday...not so much. Lots of heavy lifting and walking with a hard set-up and breakdown. The day after I work a party like that, my body aches like that of a 90-year old woman. So what did I yesterday? Did I rest and let my muscle aches wear off? No. Instead, I went to a 2 1/2 hour yoga workshop on arm balances! Am I crazy? I think so. But man it was awesome. The instructor Mandy is an Anusara-Inspired teacher. I've been wanting to try some Anusara because the alignment principles of the yoga style are very interesting to me. As much as I love the vinyasa practice, I am feeling stuck right now and Anusara seems like the next logical step. Mandy broke down the arm balances in ways that make the poses seem so much more accessible now. Arm bones back, melt your heart, and my favorite, inner body bright. Pretty cool.

LSU screwed everything up this weekend. I cannot believe they lost in triple overtime to Kentucky. My only hope is that they still have a shot at the national championship. Come on, Tigers!

Kitty cat

Last night one of our cats spit up more times than he usually does. Then he spit up red stuff around 10:00 and then again at 1:30 this morning. I woke up at 5:30 to go to yoga because I can't go tonight and right after I got up, he spit up red again. So I decided not to go to yoga, but to get back in bed so that I could get back up around 7:00 and take Bart to the vet. I'm concerned that he was spitting up blood. I sure hope not because I've been googling that all morning and it isn't good if it's blood. I should hear from the vet soon. Poor little Bartleby (his full name; we call him Bart for short.)

-------
I went to Clayton's class yesterday. He is totally different from any other yoga teacher at Bodhi, but I like that. The class was awesome. He chants at the beginning and end of class. I wonder if he would just chant for an hour and let me lie there and listen. When he chants at the end of class, I just want to fall asleep and definitely do not want to go back to work. (He teaches at noon.) I was thinking about the noon class and how unique it is because I go right smack in the middle of my day. It helps to me forget about the crap that has already happened, but then also helps me not to think about what I have left to do during the day. I like it.

work, yoga, and other fun stuff

We got back from San Francisco late Wednesday night and boy, what a great time we had! It was our first long trip alone together since our honeymoon over three years ago. We go on a week-long vacation every year, but it's with friends, so this was nice. If there is ever a city that is a runner's dream, it is San Francisco. Not that I ran while I was there because I didn't, but I saw lots of people running and all I could think was how nice it would be to take a long run through those hilly neighborhoods. If I lived there, I would have the best ass and butt in all of America. I hope I get the chance to run there at least once in my life.

We ate some really good food and drank some really good wine in Sonoma. We got to see Amy and Reese and since Amy is a wine steward, we got the total hook up at the wineries they took us to. We got to see my sister-in-law's five-month old little boy Colton. What a cutie! He's simply precious. Kind of makes me want kids...kind of. When I get pictures, I'll post one.

And then of course, I'm back to reality. Why oh why do we always have to come back to reality? But it is nice to be back to yoga. I don't realize how much I miss it until I go almost a full week without practicing, which isn't very often. I had a sort of frustrating morning at work yesterday and then I went to Sean's class at noon. It's such a nice release to be able to do that in the middle of a chaotic day.

Maybe it's because I just went to a new city, but I feel that I need change and I'm trying to figure out what that is.
